Time to say goodbye.
Characters: Samantha, Barbara. Then Spike and Angel.
Time: 3 AM
Location: Angel's Mansion.
Thread Status: Open to Barbara at first. Followed by Spike, and then Angel.

Sam sat there for the next hour, her eyes searching her lovers as he spoke to her about … everything that had happened between him and Buffy the vampire Slayer. Some of the things.. she never could imagine him doing, but others.. she was unable to repress the growl of jealousy that erupted through her clenched lips. But, she had to keep her calm, she promised him that she would.

He told her about how the dream had started with him being obsessed with always wanting to kill her. To get another slayer in his notch of kills in his bedpost.. but it turned into something else. The obsession changed and he became.. in love with her. The dream… it had changed everything. His heart. His mind. his body. His .. well, mini-him. He had tried to get her to be with him, but nothing had ever happened.

She turned him down at every turn and every corner. That was.. until she had died.

Buffy died saving the world - ugh - for the second time, and Spike had been utterly devastated. Her heart admittedly hurt at the idea of Spike being so heart broken, and she had curled up into his side, trying to be comforting as he talked. She felt better when he had wrapped her up in his arms, holding her close to him as he continued to talk. He told her of how Buffy just wanted to feel.

During a very… very terrible little couple of days where everyone was singing. Although, Sam admitted that she would have loved to be there.. she would have loved to hear him sing.. She was sure that it was.. heavenly and sinful at the same time. His voice just did that to her regularly.. she couldn't wait to hear him sing to her one day. But anyway. After all the singing.. they had kissed. And their relationship began.

She, of course, was ashamed of being with him. She kept their relationship a secret, and he continued to sleep with her whenever he wanted to, and whenever she wanted to as well. They brought down buildings, literally.. and it made Sam want to destroy an even bigger building then an already condemned house.. Just to one up the slayer.

The relationship had ended sourly.

But for some reason, she kept him in her heart. So close to it that she would let him be apart of the good fight, and Sam was a little upset by that. She couldn't shake the feeling that Buffy was still in love with Spike, and that she would do anything to get him back. Well, maybe not anything, but that she wouldn't mind the vampire to be so close to her again.

The conversation had turned to her, but she was unable to tell him anything, because there were footsteps in the mansion, and they had belonged to her sire. There was only one set, and she took in a deep breath. She could feel the sorrow, and the pride, and the.. just pain… she didn't know what else was there, but she knew what this was going to be.

She turned to Spike and pressed a soft kiss to his mouth, her fingers gently tracing the skin over his cheekbones, down his cheek and chin before she was up and out of the bedroom before he even had a chance to blink. She moved down the hallway, and down the main staircase to see Barbara sitting by the fire. She took in a deep, unneeded breathe again and crossed her arms over her chest.

"How long are you staying?" she asked softly.

She knew that her sire brought her here for a reason. She knew, that that reason was either the fight.. or Spike. She also knew, that even though they loved each other dearly, and that they were family.. and best friends.. Sometimes when one had a different path than another.. they had to let them go. Because if you truly love something.. or someone.. you must let them go.

Angel did not like the fact that he had let Angelus out of his cage, even for just a few moments. He hated when it came down to that. He hated when he became so weak that he couldn't keep him locked up, but he also hated that even when he was strong enough, Angelus was still there, he could still be seen by those who knew him. The one that he didn't want to see Angelus, was the one that could, and it broke his heart.

Even though he knew she could see him staring into her eyes, see Angelus reflecting back at her, he couldn't take his eyes from hers. He could see a calm behind his own storm and it made him feel… well… calm. She was the only one that could easily keep Angelus at bay, even when he was Angelus. Buffy was never able to, she could keep Angel in check, but Angelus was a storm. Barbara on the other hand, had been around Angelus from the very beginning, she knew how to keep the demon in check, she knew what he liked, and what he didn't like. Even though most of the time she pushed his buttons on purpose so that she could get the reaction she knew she would get.

He heard Sam finally beginning to move, and waited for the words to leave her lips, but what came out, he was a little surprised at how bold she was being. "So i guess that this is it. Don't look at me like that, B. You know it is, I know it is. You're leaving, and i'm not going to see you again. The second you let him reclaim you… We both knew that you were going to go back and live with him. I'm okay with that, as long as you're happy. I don't want you sitting there, being treated like the dog that you wish you were to him, you're not like that anymore. You've become you're on person - don't let him take that away from you."

Angelus was even more surprised now that she was indeed Barabra's childe. The mouth on her, and the words she expressed. The confidence, and the anger, and the beauty that radiated off of her, it just screamed that she had been Spike's just to make him angry. He was also sure that if Spike had gotten to Samantha eighty years ago… their bond would have outworn his with Drusilla. Just as it seemed to be now. They were perfect for each other.. they matched each other and challenged each other in ways that Drusilla and Spike never could. She was going to be good for the peroxide freak.

"And I swear to God, even if you are her sire or the biggest, badass vampire out there… You harm her, more than what she actually wants.. I will hunt you down, and I will rip you apart limb by limb. Starting with your most prized possession. Don't leave Los Angeles, I need to know where you are, at all times, so that I don't have to chase you around the world if you ever do hurt her."

His eyebrow bean to rise as she threatened him. Yep, she was definitely going to be perfect with Spike. He was glad that she was going to be staying here with him, rather than following Barbara and himself to Los Angeles, he knew he didn't have it in him to look after another Spike, not as Angel at least. She'd be too untamed.

The glare and the slight hiss that escaped her before she left had Angel raising a brow and shaking his head. "That girl… I cannot see how she is your childe, she is so different from you." he commented, "I guess that's why you chose her right? Because she wasn't a carbon copy of you." That is what went wrong with all the other ones she'd tired, they were all like her - they went crazy when they were turned, and full of insane bloodlust, to the point where they had to be put down. Sam… Sam was different, she was controlled, it was definitely something that Barbara had needed to become the vampiress that she had.

"Alright, go and get your stuff. It's time to go… We've got a few hours until sunrise and it will take us just that amount to get to LA."

“Yeah, yeah,” Barbara mumbled, wincing slightly at the sound of his fingers snapping. Her eyes raised toward Angel and she smiled weakly, one look in her eyes and she knew that he hadn’t forgotten that he was still horribly pissed off at her and was planning on...something. She could never tell what, but there was something forming in his brain. There always was. She leaned up on her tip toes and captured his mouth before nuzzling her head underneath his chin. “Just give me a moment okay? My stuffs in my room, I just have...one more loose end I need to tie up.”

"Kitten..." He growled, his tone tense...

“Just..give me this one thing...” She pleaded, “Then...you can do whatever you want with me. Promise.” Her tone was suggestive, velvety. It worked like a charm. He nodded. She smiled. He went up to her room to get her things, she walked in the direction that Spike went.

She found Spike and Sam around the back of the mansion, Spike was smoking a cigarette and Barbara went up and took it from him without asking, taking a long hit of it. Spike looked at her for a long moment before pulling out another one and lighting it. "Don't think your Angels-babys gonna be too excited about that habit there Kitten, He responded, nodding toward the cigarette. Barbara smiled a bit. “Yes I’m aware, the last time he caught me smoking he put it out on my tongue.”

She felt Sam flinch behind her, she smiled, so did Spike. Then the two elder vampires started chuckling. “I remember that.” He looked toward Sam, “Stupid bitch held out her tongue like she was told too. Idiot.”

She waved him off, “I was proving a point.”

"That point being ‘hey! put it out on my tongue! I‘ll make it easy Ahhhhhhh...'" Spike broke out into a fit of laughter. Barbara smirked a bit, crossing her arms. “I still can’t taste salt that well.” She snorted a bit at her own words and shook her head before turning back toward Sam.

“Things are....different...than the world I’ve showed you Sam. I’ve lied to you alot, to keep you safe.... but I’ll be alright. You can ask Spike, I’m a tank, I was built for this.... This...this is what I was created for...You need to stop worrying about me, because I’ve been talking to Spike here....There’s a storm coming. You sure you don’t want to head out with Angel and I?”

There was a pause, and she stared into Sam’s eyes as if trying to see into the soul she knew wasn’t there. There was a silent conversation, one that only could happen between a sire and a childe, between Samantha Wild and Barbara O’Connor. Barbara nodded. “No, I didn’t think I’d be able to talk you out of it. Spike here is gonna be showing you a little bit of my world...our world...Be brave Sam...you can take it....hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up topping him at the end of all of this.” She heard Spike snort behind her and she rolled her eyes, smiling at her childe.

“I’m not abandoning you Samantha...I’m letting you go so you can fly, the only thing I’ll ever be able to provide you with is iron wings...but....if...” She stepped forward, lowered her voice. “I’m only a few towns away....a few hours drive, a nights run if that...” She pressed her lips to Sams lips, and then to her forehead.

“I need you to go inside now, just for a moment.” She glanced over her shoulder. “I need to speak to your boyfriend for just one second, mono e mono.”

She turned slowly back toward Spike, waited until she heard a door shut behind her, and then another...She crossed the distance between Spike and herself. “You will take care of her...won’t you?”

"You know the answer to that kitten."

“Good. Then I’ll only have to say this once, if you screw up...if you hurt her or make her cry...” Her hand suddenly grabbed his groin, squeezing painfully hard, “You’ll wish that the only thing I do is remove this.” She released it, and when she did, he let out a breathe. She took a step back then, and turned around, but just as she heard Spike start to relax, swear under his breathe she took another hit off her cigarette and then turned and punched him square in the face. He tackled her to the ground and she hit it with a hard thud. He blacked her eye before she could fight him off, but once she vamped she was able to get on top of him, she laced her fingers through his hair and slammed his head against the ground, again, and again. She punched him, and she felt his nose break underneath her fist. She knew it would heal within only a few hours. She sat up then, straddling him and grabbed him by the front of her shirt.

“If you didn’t already understand, that was for touching what was mine without my fucking permission.” Spike looked at her and spit, she was sprayed with his blood. She licked her lips and grinned. “You still taste like sweet-tarts.”

By the time she made her way around the bend to where Angel was in his car she saw he had already packed all of her stuff. Sam was leaning against the wall in the shadows, arms crossed, glaring daggers at Angel. She stopped about halfway between Sam and Angel and fished around in her pocket, she found the keys to her car and looked at Sam, tossing them in her direction. Sam caught them without trying and then looked at Barbara, long and hard. She smiled, and got into the passenger side of the car.

She turned and grinned at Angel who was staring at her with slightly widened eyes. She had shown up covered in scratches, dirt and blood with a blackened eye. “Oh don’t worry, it’s not my blood.”

She leaned back in the seat and put her feet up on the dash-board, trekking dust and mud against the clean interior as she did.
